Colin Kleanthous is the Iveagh Professor of Microbial Biochemistry in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Oxford.  His research centres on protein-protein recognition, in particular how bacteriocins (protein antibiotics) exploit such interactions to kill bacteria and how they underpin organisation in the bacterial cell envelope.  Prior to coming to Oxford Colin held academic positions at the Universities of York (2002-2012) and East Anglia (1991-2002).
